Episcopal Youth on retreat at the Diocesan Retreat Center in Jennerstown, PA..
At Saint Barnabas, we have implemented the concept of team ministry. The ministry of the laity is a central part of our life together. Our lay ministry covers a wide spectrum, including Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes, Altar Guild, Ushers, Christian Education, both youth and adult choirs, as well as several outreach programs. The administrative structure of our parish centers on a six person Vestry, which oversees finances, fund raising and the physical plant. A Program Warden works with worship, outreach and fellowship. On a less structured level, we have a number of social groups engaged in ministry. Our Episcopal Youth meet periodically for activities and service. Recently, they spent the night with our homeless families in the Interfaith Hospitality Network. In sum, Saint Barnabas is its people. The life and ministry of the people of our congregation make up the church. We use our physical plant as a ministry tool.
